Artist Prospex presents his vision of a reimagined Americana through captivating collections of AI portraits from his fictional universe, 'Prospex Park'.
“As a newcomer to living in Los Angeles, Prospex Park is a response to the sense of wonder and oddity that the city evokes in someone who is an outsider looking in. Everything is familiar yet strangely alien.
I’ve been exploring well worn American cultural themes that I grew up being fascinated by from afar - from the US suburb to the wild West - reflecting them back from an outsider’s perspective, kind of as a way to process and fit in to my new life here.
AI always struck me as the perfect medium for this as, like me, the AI is an outsider doing its best to make sense of an alien world familiar to everyone in it.”

“I wanted to address the perception of AI art as lacking in craft and humanity by encouraging a positive dialogue between generative AI artwork and traditional crafts.
My costumes begin as AI portraits which I then bring to reality by collaborating with designers and artists to handcraft the garments.
My persona of Prospex emerged as a vehicle to literally walk the artwork out into the real world, employing anonymity to push the art to the forefront while I take a backseat.”
